Le P\u00e8re No\u00ebl\u2026 d\u2019o\u00f9 vient-il ?<\/span><\/strong> <\/p>\n

C\u2019est l’\u00e9v\u00eaque Saint Nicolas<\/strong> (f\u00eat\u00e9 le 6 d\u00e9cembre) qui a inspir\u00e9 l\u2019image du p\u00e8re No\u00ebl. Il \u00e9tait repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 avec une longue barbe blanche<\/strong> et un costume rouge<\/strong>. Il voyageait dans un tra\u00eeneau tir\u00e9 par des r\u00eanes et apportait des cadeaux aux enfants.<\/span> <\/p>\n

Il \u00e9tait accompagne du redoutable \u00ab\u00a0p\u00e8re fouettard\u00a0\u00bb. Les immigr\u00e9s allemands ou hollandais l\u2019ont import\u00e9 aux \u00c9tats-Unis au XVII\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, et s\u2019il s\u2019est m\u00e9tamorphos\u00e9 en un p\u00e8re No\u00ebl plus convivial.<\/span> <\/p>\n

En1821,  un pasteur am\u00e9ricain Cl\u00e9ment Clarke Moore<\/span> \u00e9crivit un conte de No\u00ebl o\u00f9 appara\u00eet le p\u00e8re No\u00ebl<\/strong>.<\/span> <\/p>\n

En 1931, la figure du p\u00e8re No\u00ebl fut popularis\u00e9e par une image publicitaire de Coca-Cola : une figurine sympathique, un air jovial et une attitude d\u00e9bonnaire. Ainsi, pendant pr\u00e8s de 35 ans, Coca-Cola diffusa ce portrait du p\u00e8re No\u00ebl dans la presse \u00e9crite et, ensuite, \u00e0 la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision. La<\/span> popularit\u00e9 du P\u00e8re No\u00ebl est tr\u00e8s grande.<\/span> Certains enfants \u00e9crivent une lettre au P\u00e8re No\u00ebl pour lui indiquer ce qu’ils d\u00e9sirent comme cadeaux.<\/span>  <\/span> <\/p>\n

Le P\u00e8re No\u00ebl a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la\u00efciser la f\u00eate de No\u00ebl et a suscit\u00e9 un mouvement de protestation de la part des catholiques (hou, les vilains !). Certaines manifestations  all\u00e8rent m\u00eame jusqu’\u00e0 br\u00fbler l’effigie du P\u00e8re No\u00ebl. En effet la nuit du 24 d\u00e9cembre est celle de l\u2019enfant J\u00e9sus qui, lui aussi, donnait des cadeaux aux enfants (qui, des parents chr\u00e9tiens le leur disent encore ?).<\/span> <\/p>\n
